Interested in your thoughts on the delayed prescription as a source of confusion in messaging for patients. e.g., I don't think you need an antibiotic, but here's a delayed prescription in case you do need an antibiotic...

I wonder if there is benefit to having some of this information in the patient waiting area. It starts the discussion from a place of familiarity.

Thank you for focusing on guideline recommendations for dosing and duration of therapy... obviously reducing overall antibiotic use through watchful waiting is important, but inappropriate dosing can be just as problematic. I am wrapping up my MSc project which was done in a community pharmacy and focused on empowering pharmacists to adapt prescriptions to bring them more in line with guidelines... baseline guideline congruence of prescriptions that came into the pharmacies was only about 25%! Pharmacists increased this to about 50% but still a long way to go

With hib and pneumo 13 vaccinations a part of childhood vaccination, is there data yet on infection profiles for AOM after initiation of these vaccines into routine? All the data I found was fairly old (2010ish). Is it changing and will it chang Rx recommendations when Rx are needed?

Hearing anecdotal stories from parents of children whose PCP refused an in person visit for their child despite negative COVID tests and prolonged or worsening status, what criteria would you recommend to distinguish a child who needs an in-person visit versus a patient who can be managed virtually.

A broader educational campaign for parents and caregivers seems like a great idea although likely easier imagined than enacted.

Public Health Ontario has some excellent tools for shared decision making about antibiotics, here's one specific to AOM: https://www.publichealthontario.ca/-/media/documents/i/2018/infographic-lets-talk-ear-infection.pdf?sc_lang=en
